5 Things All 2020 Jamb Candidates Should Do Before The Lockdown Ends

5 Things All 2020 Jamb Candidates Should Do Before The Lockdown Ends

First of all, for those of you who have checked your jamb result and passed, a big congratulations to you.

However, your Jamb score does not guarantee that you will be admitted to the university. Although it plays a good part of the role. This article will guide you on what to do next.

Secondly, if you did not pass Jamb. I want to tell you that it is not the end of the world. You can still write again next year. If you read and study harder, you will surely pass with flying colors. Listed below are five things to do after writing Jamb 2020:

1. You should know your Jamb score and university/course cut off mark
After writing Jamb, the first compulsory thing to do is to check your score. After checking if you reached your school cut off mark, the next thing is to see whether you can be admitted for your choice of course, with your score. If you reached your choice of institution/school cut off mark, congrats. But if you scored very low in you score, see number three on this article

Check your Jamb score and see whether you reached your choice of institution cut off mark. If yes, good… But if no, see number 3.

2. Consider Whether To Change School Or Course
If your score is too low, or is not up to the cut off mark, the best thing to do is to change your choice of institution or course. Most universities do not give out admission to people with low Jamb scored because of how competitive they are. So I advice you to change to a polytechnic or a less competitive school.

3. Be Patient
It is very normal to be anxious to go to school. After writing Jamb, a lot of people can't wait to get into the university already. Especially, during this lockdown, so many Jambites are tired of staying at home, they can't wait for the lockdown to end. But you have to be patient because Post UTME forms are not yet out. So dear Jambites, relax so that your blood pressure will not rise to a very high level.

4. Learn A Skill
While waiting for the lockdown to end, or for admission to start, you can start learning a skill or looking for a small job. You can learn fashion designing, hairdressing, mechanic, catering and so many others. You can also work as a bartender, nanny, sales girl/boy or any other small job you can think of. Jamb will start releasing admission status from September, so you have a whole lot of time to do other things and earn more money.

5. Be Updated About Your School’s Screening Form and Date
Even in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic, always stay clued and know what is happening. Always ask questions. You can join your aspiring school's groups on Facebook, WhatsApp or telegram just to stay connected. This is due to the fact that you might carried away by the lockdown, and lose track of when Post UTME forms and exam dates are announced, thereby losing your admission.

Thanks for reading. If you find this information helpful, kindly share to your friends and family it might be helpful to them too
