School Resumption: WAEC And NECO Students Should Be Given The Opportunity To Write Their Exams |
Recall that The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is an examination board established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally. And The National Examinations Council (NECO) is an examination board that conducts the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE), Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal and External for students in Nigeria.
WAEC and NECO students should be allowed to resume their various schools and start preparing ahead of their upcoming exams. As we all know, WAEC and NECO exams usually holds between the months of May/June.
We are still yet to know the final decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria regarding West African examination council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO).
On behalf of the Nigerian students, we are pleading to the Federal Government of Nigeria in line with the Ministry of Education to at least grant WAEC and NECO students the opportunity to come out and partake in their exams because time is already running out.
Also those in higher institutions should be given a date for resumption. Some are already complaining of staying at home. They are all afraid to spend extral year in school.
NOTE
If the school are to be opened now, the students should be taught on how to maintain all the safety precautions as provided by the NCDC inorder to help prevent the spread of the deadly Virus (COVID-19) by making sure they wash thier hands regularly with running waters, wear nose masks, and practice social distances.
OPINION
If you are in support that the WAEC and NECO students should be given the opportunity to come out and write their exams, kindly leave a comment below so our voices will be heard.
